Overview
The contribution characterizes exercise with elastic band in view of the Brügger concept. It is supplemented with a pilot study aimed to document activity of selected muscles of the trunk by means of polyelectromyographic examination. In three kinds of trunk exercise performed against the resistance of elastic band the authors evaluated % MVC in m. obliquus abdominis internus, m. rectus abdominis, m. latissimus dorsi, m. errector spinae TH-L on the right and left side of the trunk. The results of the case study indicate effectiveness of the exercise, which were developed empirically and only on the basis of neurophysiological knowledge. In conclusion the authors draw attention to the fact that the exercise analyzed according to % MVC is also in agreement with general recommendations for functional training in the area under observation. Therefore, this kind of exercise may be considered as a possibility of exercise preventing incorrect posture.
