Overview

Because there is no precisely defined examination method of standing on two scales and differencesas regards the interpretation of results in the literature (Lewit, Véle, Gúth) the authors evaluatedfactors which may play a part in the test and attempted to verify values of physiological lateraldifference as regards burdening in the healthy young population, using a standardized procedure. The result of the investigation made in 68 young people with a normal kinesiological finding led tosuggestions for a standard procedure in examinations of the lateral symmetry of burdening of thelower extremities. Investigations of standing on two scales were compared with examinations ontensometric platforms AMTI OR 6-5.Analysis of the results revealed that examination of standing on two scales using mechanical digitalscales SOEHNLE is as regards accuracy comparable with examination on tensometric platformsand is satisfactory even using a single assessment. All examined subjects burdened their lowerextremities asymmetrically (without preference of one extremity within the investigated group) witha mean difference of approximately 4 % body weight.
