Overview

Schwannoma (neurilemoma, neurinoma) is a benign tumour with slow growth, rising from Schwann cells nervous capsule of any kind of medullated nerve. In the ENT areas of is herewith type of tumour most frequently affected the eighth head nerve. The occurrence in the sinonasal locality is rare /4%/, whereby infiltration of nasal septum is as yet rare. We present here a 12 year old patient, with tumor resistance soft textures, light-grey colours, imposing how polypus or cystic tissue, infiltrating front third nasal septum left with partial obturation nasal passage. To surgical removing be taken advantage of endoscopic endonasal access. Postoperative histopatologic examination removing tumor tissues verify schwannoma Antoni type A and immunohistochemical diffuse positivity on S- 100 protein and negativity on EMA protein.
