Overview
Non-traumatic cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea represents less than 5% of cases of cerebrospinal fistula. It is most common in the area of lamina cribrosa. Diagnosis includes imaging examinations, especially CT cisternography, but rhino-endoscopic examination is essential. The treatment is mostly surgical, consists of closing the defect of dura mater – duraplasty. We present a case report of a 46-year old patient with a non-traumatic cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea, which underwent endonasal endoscopic surgery at our department. One year after surgery the patient is without signs of recurrence of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea.
