Overview
Experience with cochlear implants made by the MED-EL company, namely PULSARCI100 and SONATATI100 is described in five adult patients. Surgical approach is outlined and the implant benefit is given. The question of the apical cochlear electrical stimulation using long electrode arrays is discussed.
Key words:
cochlear neuroprosthesis, cochlear implant, cochlea, deafness.
