Overview
The authors present the case-record of a previously healthy 48-year-old female patientwith the limited form of Wegener’s granulomatosis. The disease was manifested by bilateral mastoiditiswith paresis of the facial nerve, complete loss of hearing on the left, serious impairment ofhearing on the right side and temporary occlusion of the a. centralis retinae on the right. In thediscussion the authors draw attention to the diagnostic pitfalls of the limited form of Wegener’sgranulomatosis. Immunosupressive and cytostatic treatment led within a relatively short time toclinical and laboratory remission of the disease. In the conclusion the authors emphasize theimportance of team work in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
