Overview

Amyloidosis is a disorder of the protein metabolism characterized by abnormalextracellular deposition of protein masses with a fibrillar structure. The authors describe a case ofcombined diffuse primary amyloidosis with the main manifestations in the region of the tonguewhich imitated a malignant tumour, and draw attention to the pitfalls of diagnosis.
