Overview

The paper summarizes the knowledge on etiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnostics and treatment of allergic bronchopulmonal aspergillosis. It presents the case study of the disease in a young patient with the working history of exposure to mouldy corn. The load and later on calm dyspnoea, irritating cough, fever up to 38 °C and chest pain developed after early nonspecific difficulties. The outpatient antibiotic and bronchodilator treatment did not diminished the symptoms, the patient was hospitalized and examined at the lung clinic. The state of the patient has improved after corticosteroid and bronchodilator treatment and he recovered after 9 months. The hygienic assessment at the workplace confirmed the conditions for development of an occupational disease and the allergic bronchopulmonal aspergillosis was notified as the occupational disease in the patient.
