Overview

The author communicated her experience with implementation of vaccination at the travel medicine centre in the framework of the care provided by the clinic of occupational diseases during the examination of workers going abroad. The number of vaccines applied at the centre has increased from 425 to 890 injections between 2002 and 2005. The increasing number of vaccinated workers going abroad in the Czech Republic decreased significantly the number of patients with viral hepatitis A in workers going back. She pointed to the vaccination option according to the given criteria with the individual vaccination plan and also to some problems and risks related to vaccination. She listed the most frequent vaccines used in workers going abroad including their application. At the end, she acknowledged the vaccination as a part of complex care for workers going abroad from the point of view of clients and also from the point of view of physicians acknowledging the proper management and transparency of the care.
