Overview
Occupational rhinitis, though a frequent condition , is not adequately diagnosed. It may occur along with bronchial asthma.A detailed case-history and physical examination of the patient are still the cornerstones for assessment of the correct diagnosis.Knowledge of the working environment serves the evaluation of the exposure to the susp ected inhalated noxious substance. In thelaboratory diagnosis of occupational allergic rhinitis skin tests are used , in selected cases examination of specific IgE and thenasal provocation test with evaluation of the symptom score and results of anterior rhinomanometry.
