Overview
The excessive use of antibiotics (ATB) in ambulatory practice has markedly increased antimicrobial resistance among community-acquired bacterial infections in many countries. The need to optimize the ATB prescription patterns in ambulatory practice is therefore strong also in Czech Republic. On the basis of other countries experiences with the interventions to reduce inappropriate ATB prescription this paper proposes the method, which could provide the prescribing physicians with the peer-review, which is fundamental for the support of rational ATB use.
