Overview
The presented case report is focused on a boy with a developmental speech fluency disorder. The main aim of the case study is to point out the importance of a holistic approach to the diagnosis and therapy in young children with symptomatic developmental stuttering. At the same time, we briefly introduce the Sensorimotor Art Therapy method, Work at the Clay Field®. This method is one of the “bottom-up” approaches and thus suitably complements Clinical Speech Therapy in the sensorimotor, emotional and social contexts, which are often inadequate in the dominantly Cognitive Speech Therapy area.
