EVALUATION OF AUDITORY PERCEPTION IN INFANTS AND TODDLERS WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT

Overview
The article is devoted to a current topic in the care for children with severe hearing impairment, the evaluation of hearing perception and mapping of the hearing and speech development in infants and toddlers. The aim has been to provide an overview of current diagnostic tools designed to evaluate auditory perception, especially in the youngest users of hearing aids and cochlear implants. All these tools are available in the Czech language for medical, school and social work experts. The article contains a description of each tool and also practical users’ information. Finally, it presents the first Czech version of the foreign evaluation profile – NAMES (Nottingham Auditory Milestones).
