Overview
Older patients hospitalized in long-term-care facilities for a long time are one of the most vulnerable groups in the population during COVID-19 infection. This retrospective work analyzes a group of a total of 79 seniors over 65 years tested positive for COVID-19 using the PCR method, who have been hospitalized in a long-term-care facility since 1. 11. to 31. 12. 2020. The monitored parameters were age, sex, length of illness, selected comorbidities, severity of the disease and mortality. The results correspond to the information known so far on the severity of COVID-19 in this fragile population.
