Overview
Aim:
The main aim of the study was to validate the diagnosis of Caregiver role strain by home care nurses in the Czech Republic.
Methods:
Fehring’s Diagnostic Content Validation model (DCV model) was used for validation. The sample consisted of 110 nurses from home care agencies in the Czech Republic.
Results:
Out of 36 defining characteristics, the Czech sample of nurses only classified the following 2 signs as major indicia:
apprehension about care receiver’s care if caregiver is unable to provide care, and
conflict within the family.
Conclusion:
Not all defining characteristics found in the NANDA-International classification system are equally significant for Czech home care nurses to determine nursing Caregiver Role Strain diagnosis.
