Overview

This article outlines the specific risks of alcohol for children and adolescents. Further, we concentrate on the procedures that have been proven in the prevention and treatment of problems associated with alcohol. Developmental aspects and individual supportive, protective and risk factors must be taken into account in prevention and treatment. The fact that this is a current problem is confirmed by data from the ESPAD survey carried out among schoolchildren aged 16 years (2).

Key words:
alcohol, children and adolescents, prevention, treatment.
