Overview

The objective of this article is to contribute to state-of-the-art management of patients with inflammatory disease of the nose and paranasal cavities in Czech Republic. This conclusion reflects the European consensus on rhinosinusitis and nasal polyposis (EP3OS), which was published in Rhinology journal as Supplement 20 in 2007. It summarizes and analyzes the current understanding of rhinosinusitis and respects the results of evidence-based medicine studies over 137 pages.

EP3OS 2007 is more directed towards ENT, but contains recommendations and algorithms for diagnosis and treatment for general practitioners and other specialities too. The EP3OS Pocketguide is a simplified and well laid-out publication; published in 2009 in the Czech Republic it reflects the position of the Czech Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery.
