Overview
Cannabis forms a group of narcotic drugs with agonist effects on THC receptors. The group contains the addictive cannabis sativa drugs (e.g . marihuana, hashish) and further endogenous and synthetic cannabinoids (dronabinol). The criteria for dependence upon this narcotic drug group are the same as for other types of drug. Cannabinoids are the most widespread illegal drugs in the Czech Republic. Dependence upon this narcotic drug group poses numerous risks for physical and mental health. Here we review the methods that are used in intervention and the treatment of cannabis dependency and related disorders.
Key words:
cannabis, craving, detoxification.
