Overview

Acute toxic hepatitis can be induced by a range of drugs, it can also occur after the consumption of herbal preparations. We present a case of acute toxic hepatitis following the use of a herbal food supplement for the treatment of psoriasis. It is widely recognised that conventional medications can give rise to serious adverse reactions, but this is also true of herbal preparations even though they are generally considered to be harmless by the lay public.
