Overview
The article presents an outline of new treatment modalities of hypertension associated with diabetes mellitus type 2; it underlines positive effects of drugs blocking renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system in prevention of new onset of diabetes during treatment of hypertension and importance of these substances in treatment of ischemic heart disease. Furthermore, it draws attention to the importance of hypolipidemic treatment by statins in hypertensive patients.
