Overview
The authors present a short account of psychological methods used in clinical medicine for theexplanation of the patient’s behaviour and its probable prediction. The basis of a psychologicalexamination are a clinical inquiry, a structured interview, and an assessment of the patient’sbehaviour. The major standardized test methods assess cognitive and motivation functions, thestate of emotivity, and certain personality characteristics. Just as with other auxiliary andsupplementary investigations, the physician should ask the psychologist general questionswhich he/she wishes to know the answer to.
