Since 1957, the Neurosurgical Clinic of the 1st. Medical faculty of Charles University hasdevoted a lot of time to cure in the area of trigeminal neuralgia. During this period, manyexperiences been gained, which has ment that some treatments have been rejected and othermethods developed. According to present knowledge exact specifications used determiningtreatment of patients. A long-term success has been achieved of 80% using microvasculardecompression, and 65% using percutaneous methods. Results are compatible to those publish-ed in literature. This rewiev is desegned to inform a large medical public about the possiblemethods of treatment of trigeminal neuralgia.
