Overview
The use of human milk influences positively growth of very low birth weight (VLBW) infants, decreases risk associated with formula feeding, and also has economic and psychological benefits. Human milk fortifiers help to prepare human milk enriched with protein and minerals safely. The authors discuss all currently known forms of fortification and focus mainly on new approaches in individualized human breast milk fortification.
