Overview
In this paper is presented the problem of factitious disorder by proxy, also known as Münchhausen’s syndromeby proxy, and the example of case-history, too. This disorder is characterized by the deliberate long-termfabrication or induction of morbid symptoms in a child by an adult caretaker, mostly by mother. Münchhausen’ssyndrome by proxy should by considered in the differential diagnosis of obscure conditions for which a rationalexplanation is lacking.
