Cyclic vomiting syndrome is a child as well as adult diagnosis. Prevalence of the syndrome in childhood is 1.9%.This syndrome is identified by the occurrence of three or more episodes of intractable nausea and repeatedvomiting, sometimes with accompanying symptoms; there are completely asymptomatic intervals between eachepisode.Various organic gastrointestinal, neurologic and metabolic disorders must be excluded before the diagnosisis made. In this article, possible causes, pathophysiological ways, course, clinical approach and therapy of variousphases of the syndrome are discussed.
