Overview
A sixteen-year-old boy was admitted to the oncological department on account of an abdominal wall tumour.Clinical appearance as well as ultrasound, CT and MRI findings, respectively, were non-specific. Early surgerywas indicated because of tumour progression. Surgery revealed a large focus of slushy tissue. Only histologicalexamination established the diagnosis of an actinomycotic abscess. The authors demonstrate difficulties with theestablishment of the diagnosis of this rare disease.
