The authors describe a case of imported tropical malaria with multi-organ affection in a child. They drawattention to diagnostic problems, in particular with regard to the epidemiological history, treatment and resistanceto anti-malaria drugs and emphasize the importance of malaria prophylaxis in persons staying in endemic areas.
