Overview
Extension of current methods applied in the treatment of vitiligo by transepidermal injection of autologous melanocytes from tissue culture with the aid of Dermojet equipment is described. Preliminary results indicate that in some patients this procedure is comparable to the application of melanocytes to the surface of the skin prepared by dermabrasion. Advantages of described method are: simplicity of nearly painless procedure, possibility to treat extensive areas of the skin in one session - with the only limit being in the sufficient amount of melanocyte suspension and the expenses of tissue culture - possibility to repeat the same treatment.
