Overview
The authors present new imaging methods of digital photography, dermatoscopy, and videomicroscopy, epiluminiscent microscopy, ultrasonography and mention also telemedicine and teledermatology. Modern imaging methods and subsequent computer processing of the record make improvement of diagnostic procedures possible and render the differential diagnosis more accurate. Their importance must not overrated however and in dermatology the basis is still examination by a physician using common examination methods.
