The authors present a review on non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatment of osteoar-thritis. The review will serve as a basis for the elaboration of standard procedures. For its formula-tion regulations of the American College of Rheumatology were used as well as an overview andmetaanalytical studies from renown journals which analyze mainly randomized controlled studies.The authors emphasize the sequence of the therapeutic procedure from non-pharmacological topharmacological ones. They give an account of recent so-called SYSADOA. In the conclusion theymention some experimental procedures and describe briefly basic procedures used in surgicaltreatment.
