Overview
Objective:
To present a review on the contemporary degree of the development of prophylactic HPV vaccines.
Design:
Review article.
Setting:
Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, 1st Medical Faculty and General Faculty Hospital, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic.
Methods:
Literature review.
Conclusion:
The contemporary knowledge about relation of HPV infection and cervical cancer gives a theoretical presumption for the development of prophylactic HPV vaccines. Results of extended studies of quadrivalent and bivalent HPV vaccines justify to expect their soon introduction to clinical practice.
