Objective:
Review of distending media used in hysteroscopic surgery.Type of study: Overview.Setting: Institute for the Care of Mother and Child, Prague.Methods: Analysis of data from the literature.Results: The author reviewed the use of distendingmedia in hysteroscopic surgery with most seriouscomplication - fluid overload syndrom.Conclusion: Fluid overload syndrome is a very dangerous and often underestimated complicationduring hysteroscopic surgery which needs immediate and appropriate management.
