Summary:
Oral cavum morphology of the cleft patient is distorted due to the congenitaldefect. Unusual locations of plaque retention are created. Thus, appropriate oral hygienetechnique gains importance. Our experiences show that the oral hygiene status of the cleftpatients is at an insufficient level. The research was run on random sample of thirty patientsconfirmed our observations: the average Aproximal Plaque Index – API was 83 % (s = 13),Bleeding Index – BI was 38 % (s = 21).
