Overview

The mental condition of the individual before committing suicide has been dealt with in various reports presenting opinions from the area of philosophy, psychiatry and sociology. The communication evaluates the validity of the will having been written by a 38-year man, previously treated in psychiatry, immediately before suicide by hanging. The authors are of the opinion that validity of the legal action, although made under such conditions, should not be questioned provided the content of the action was not influenced by a psychotic process.
