The pharmaceutical market in Yemen represents a potential target for Czech pharmaceutical firms.It requires a knowledge of specific conditions of Yemeni health service and pharmacy. With regardto different cultures and languages, Yemeni pharmaceutical market is practically unknown to us.On the basis of an analysis of the materials of the Ministry of Statistics and the Ministry of PublicHealth, the paper presents the data about the growth in the number of inhabitants, the number ofhealthservice establishments, the structure and number of workers in health services, morbidity ofthe population, and a list of typical diseases. The hitherto unpublished data about inland pharmaceutical industry and import of drugs, conditions for registration of pharmaceutical firms andregistration of drugs, and fees for the registration make it possible for Czech pharmaceutical firmsto carry out their own marketing analyses and improve their possible activities in Yemen.
