Overview

The authors focused their attention on assessment of optimal pharmacologicalapproaches for achieving cycloplegia. In preschool children they found on 100eyes with esotropia autorefractometrically after 1% atropine refraction values byas much as +4.25 D higher as compared with Cyclogyl. Cyclogyl, on the other hand, proved highly effective in detection of latent hypermetropia on 40 eyes of school-children and older children with asthenopic complaints. In another series of 20eyes of preschool children the authors tested the optimal refractory reliability of5-day administration of atropine as compared with a single dose.
