Overview
The patient with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and coronary artery disease (CAD) presents special challenges. CKD ranks among the risk factors for the development, the course and the success of the treatment of CAD and on the other hand cardiovascular disease is the major cause of morbidity and mortality of the patients with CKD. This report reviews the scope of the challenge concerning the pathophysiology of this disease, clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of these patients.
