Overview
The article describes the embryological and anatomical consequences of the development of the fascial system of the thorax in relation to the possibilities of regional anesthesia of the lumbar region. Using literary sources, schematics, ultrasound examinations, and computed tomography, we present the concept of four separate fascial compartments in the lumbar region. This concept can facilitate the understanding of blockades in the lumbar region and refine the indications and procedures
