Metabolická a kardiovaskulární rizika u pacientů se schizofrenií
Pacienti se schizofrenií mají oproti obecné populaci vyšší prevalenci kardiometabolických (KM) rizikových faktorů, což přispívá k jejich vyšší mortalitě. Vedle vrozených dispozic, nezdravého životního stylu a snížené dostupnosti lékařské péče může KM riziko zvyšovat rovněž antipsychotická léčba. Psychiatr může ke snížení tohoto rizika přispět monitorováním tělesného zdraví svých pacientů a případnou léčbou ve spolupráci s dalšími specialisty a také výběrem méně rizikového antipsychotika.
