Overview

Cryopreservation of haematopoietic stem cells represents a common method used to support autologous transplantation or to process allogeneic collections. Most transplant centres are struggling with an increasing number of unused long-term stored transplants on one hand and the absence of generally accepted rules for their disposal on the other. The goal of the recommendations is to offer a set of measures to ensure the long-term storage and eventual disposal of cryopreserved products and to try and harmonize these at national level.

Key words:

graft – cryopreservation – disposal – storage
