Overview

The last recommendations for indications of haematopoietic cells transplantations were published by the Czech Society of Hematology and Czech Society of Oncology of the J. E. Purkyně Medical Association in the year 1997. Regarding the rapid scientific and technical development on this field an up-to-dated version of the previous report has been prepared by authors on behalf of both professional societies. Recommendations introduced in this article arise particularly from the current practise of European transplant centers and from recommendations published by the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) until now. The aim of this report is to bring first of all to hospitals not involved directly into the haematopoietic cell transplantations a guide to their correct and well-timed indication at present.
