Overview
The article brings the information about locomotive activity – swimming, which may be classified into the therapeutic program in children and adults with poliomyelitis. Two available concepts are described, which have their own methodology as well as their possibilities and potential differences. Swimming can not only change the conditions of locomotive system, but also exert positive effects of human psyche, which is an important aspect in this diagnosis. If the physiotherapists or rehabilitation physicians could recommend this kind of swimming, they should be aware of the principles, contributions and obstacles.
