Overview

The knowledge of basic principles of kinesiology and pathokinesiology of the foot enables a rational choice of functional orthosis application on the basis of determination of functional type of foot leg. In most cases there are the compensation orthoses. The use of correction orthoses in common types of milder deformities is exceptional. The aim of compensation orthoses is to prevent the organism’s own compensation mechanisms and their unfavorable effects on other joints and other components of locomotor system, which is manifested in the clinic by e. g. chains of disorders
