Overview

The case report presents rare foreign body aspiration into the airways. A 63-year-old male after total laryngectomy was referred to ENT outpatient clinic. He was dealing with difficult breathing for three days after he had aspirated part of metal tracheostomy tube (he had modified the tube by himself, he cut the upper “external” part). A part of metal tracheostomy tube was confirmed inside the left principal bronchus on the X-ray of the thorax. The foreign body was successfully extracted by bronchoscopy. Patient was released five days after the surgery from the hospital without any relevant clinical symptoms.
