Overview

Erythema multiforme is an acute, immune-mediated condition, relatively common in dermatology. The signs on the oral or pharyngeal mucosa may however lead the patients to an ENT specialist, who may have difficulties with the diagnosis, first, even though the definitive diagnosis may be derived from anamnesis and clinical findings alone. Because of this, we would like to outline the problem of erythema multiforme and its differential diagnosis in the form of a short case report.

Key words:
Erythema multiforme, Steven-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, mucosa manifestations, bullous lesions of oral mucosa.
