First Succesful whole Lung Lavage in Idiopathic Pulmonary Alveolar Proteinosis in the Czech Republic

Overview

Whole lung lavage represents a possible therapeutic method in pulmonary alveolar proteinosis which can lead to an improvement of blood oxygenation in the lungs. In the Czech Republic there has been no experience with this method so far. A case of 69-year-old female with idiopathic pulmonary alveolar proteinosis treated with the whole lung lavage sequentionally conduced is reported. The whole lung lavage led to the improvement of dyspnoe and arterial blood gases. Whole lung lavage leads to the improvement of clinical status in patients with pulmonary alveolar proteinosis.
