Overview

This review article presents basic information regarding sunshine and its influence on the human body. Attention is paid to both positive and negative effects on the skin and to relationship between sunshine, vitamin D and immunity. Aspects of sunshine and tumours relationship are discussed – the negative influence on skin tumours appearance and the positive influence on the course of prostate, ovarian, breast, colon and pancreatic cancer. Basic rules for safe sunshine exposition are summarized at the end of the article.
