Overview
Investigation of the VZP (General Health Insurance Company) file revealed a high incidence of thyroid diseases in the Czech population, which includes both men and women, while women are in agreement with literature data occurring thyroid approximately 5–6× more often than men. During the 4 years of monitoring showed a statistically significant and fairly sharp rise in the number of thyroid diseases especially among women ages 35–45 years, 65–75 years and in men ages 70–85 years. Number of evaluation provides a detailed analysis with regard to diagnosis, age and other factors, which initiates and which will required careful attention.
