Overview

Hyponatraemia caused by excessive intake of hypotonic fluids can be the cause of convulsions in particular ininfants/toddlers. The authors demonstrate this fact on two clinical cases. A careful case-history focused on waterintake and examination of biochemical parameters in serum/urine are essential in the differential diagnosis of thisserious dyselectrolytaemia.
