The authors retrospectively evaluated the occurrence of complications in the course ofmycoplasma pneumoniasin children. Two hundred and thirty five patients with pneumonia at the age of 3 to 18 years were hospitalized inthe years 1990 - 2000. The infection by Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) was confirmed by serological examinationin 31.9% of patients. Thecomplications occurred in 5.3% (amassive pleural exudation twice, right-side hemiparesisonce and arthralgia once). The clinical symptoms were adjusted to normal conditions without any consequencesin all cases.
